State of the art tools

We keep up with the latest technology in our industry. Some agencies use machine translation but we do not. Our preferred CAT tool (memory keeping software) is MemoQ. For desktop publishing we have the full version of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Time surely flies when you’re having fun! We cannot believe it already has been 20 years since Language & Content was born. We are obsessively passionate about what we do, and it reflects in the final product. Here are just a couple of examples of what we do.

Print Media

We do it all, from flyers to press releases and even books. You will receive print ready materials, or if you prefer, delivery can be made in Simple Text, Word, or Google Docs.

Educational Content

Watt Watchers is an educational website produced for The University of Texas. We used CMS through MemoQ and WPML to deliver the Spanish content directly to the web designer saving time and costs.

Government Content

COVID-19 had us translating in overdrive. The City of Austin has been a client for many years, and when the pandemic began, our team jumped into gear to produce accurate and speedy translations in Spanish and Arabic.

Our Story

We met in the year 2000 while working full time as in-house translators for the American Cancer Society in Austin, Texas. Not only did we become good friends, but we realized that we worked extremely well together. When the dot-com bubble burst, donations dwindled and our department was closed. We decided to join forces and with our education, laptops, reference libraries and a lot of grit, our business was born.

Adriana Urgelles

Adriana is originally from Venezuela. She holds a bachelors degree in translation and is certified by the American Translators Association from English into Spanish. Adriana takes care of all administrative duties and project management.

Addy Miró

Addy is originally from Puerto Rico. She holds a bachelors degree in Communications and a Juris Doctor. When she is not translating, she is practicing criminal defense law in Austin. Addy takes care of everything technical, including desktop publishing.
